Getting started
Notsy opens to your last note in about 30 ms. Start typing — the first line becomes the note’s title and its file name. Everything saves automatically.
Notes are plain Markdown files in a folder you choose, called a vault.
Writing
Live Markdown
Headings, lists, checklists, quotes, code, ==highlights==, #tags and links render as you type. The symbols show only at the caret.
Tables
Tab moves between cells and Enter adds a row. Right-click for rows and columns.
Links
Type [[ and Notsy suggests note names to link. A linked note opens over the page.
Tasks and dates
Write dates in plain words: @fri 4pm, @every monday. CtrlT shows what’s due.
Text expansion
;;alpha becomes α. ;;date becomes today’s date.
Smart paste
Content from the web, Word, Google Docs, Outlook, Teams and Excel becomes clean Markdown, pictures included. CtrlShiftV pastes plain text.
Languages
Spell check in English and Arabic. Right-to-left text and IME input are supported.

Search
CtrlO searches every note. It ignores accents and Arabic and Hebrew marks, tolerates typos, and finds text inside PDFs and pictures.
Type > to run a command — the same as CtrlP.
Version history
CtrlShiftH opens the time scrubber. Drag through a note’s past versions, then restore a single line or the whole version.
Writing help
An on-device model fixes typos and grammar as you write. It runs offline and reads only the open note. One CtrlZ undoes a fix.
Import & export
Drop a DOCX, PDF or HTML file to make notes. Import from Evernote (.enex) and Notion (.zip).
Export as Markdown, a web page or PDF. Or send a note to Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini.
Windows & capture
Minimal mode
Just the note, in a small window that stays on top.
Quick capture
WinAltN opens a quick note from any app. Notsy also lives in the tray, and its taskbar menu lists recent notes.
Focus mode
Panels hide until the pointer comes near.
Your files
Your vault is a plain folder of .md files. Notsy follows outside edits live and works alongside Obsidian.
Deleted notes go to the trash, with undo.
Privacy
Notes stay on your PC as plain files. Writing help runs on-device, with no network calls. No telemetry.
